Treatment of cavities

Dental caries is the gradual destruction of the hard tissues of the tooth caused by harmful bacteria. These bacteria actively multiply in dental plaque and deposits, leading to enamel damage and the formation of cavities.

What is the danger of cavities?

Patients often delay visiting the dentist, hoping that the problem will resolve on its own or won't become too serious. But why is it important to treat dental caries in a timely manner?

  1. Prevention of complications: Dental caries can penetrate the deep layers of the tooth, reaching the nerve or root canal, leading to inflammation, severe pain, and infection. Timely treatment helps prevent complications that may require more complex and expensive procedures.
  2. Dental caries is a deceptive disease. It starts with a small spot and doesn't cause any discomfort. If left untreated, it progresses and leads to the destruction of tooth tissues, possibly resulting in tooth loss.
  3. Preservation of aesthetics: Dental caries can cause the destruction of tooth enamel and alter the appearance of the tooth. Timely treatment allows you to preserve the natural beauty of your smile.
  4. Timely treatment of dental diseases is a key factor in maintaining oral health and overall well-being. Dental caries is a focus of chronic infection that can negatively affect other organs and systems of the body.

At our clinic, we offer modern methods for treating dental caries, using high-quality materials to ensure effective and gentle care for your smile.

Cavities treatment at IODENT clinic

Treatment and filling of carious cavities with modern photopolymer materials

This method is used to treat carious cavities that have formed in the teeth. During the treatment, the dentist removes the damaged tissue and uses a special photopolymer material to fill the cavity. This material hardens under UV radiation and is applied in layers approximately 2 mm thick, allowing for precise shaping of the tooth.

The advantages of this material include:

  • Aesthetic appeal - it can be matched to the shade of natural teeth and is inconspicuous to others
  • Minimal shrinkage during curing
  • Safety of application

Treatment of carious cavities using ceramic lithium disilicate inlays

This method is used to treat severe carious lesions where tooth damage is significant. At IODENT clinic, non-metallic ceramic material based on lithium disilicate called E-max from the German company Ivoclar Vivadent is used.

The production of dental inlays utilizes scanning and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) with subsequent milling, allowing for precise replication of the shape and size of the damaged tooth.

The main advantages of ceramic inlays are:

  • Strength - five times stronger than a dental filling.
  • Absence of shrinkage.
  • Tooth reinforcement - when a ceramic inlay is installed, it evenly distributes chewing pressure, preventing the tooth walls from fracturing or breaking.
  • A wide range of shades is available to achieve a natural, aesthetic appearance.
  • Minimal tooth preparation is required.
  • Hygienic, easy to maintain, and comfortable.
  • They do not stain or wear down.

Chemical treatment of initial caries and non-carious lesions (white spots) using the ICON system

The German innovative ICON system involves the use of special chemical solutions that penetrate the damaged tooth enamel and restore its structure. This non-invasive method does not require the use of a drill, making it completely painless and comfortable.

It is suitable only for treating the initial stage of caries and non-carious lesions (white spots on the tooth enamel). The result of chemical treatment is the strengthening and restoration of the enamel. White spots become less noticeable or disappear completely, improving the appearance of the teeth.
